Volunteers

Huge Thanks to all of you who helped with Spring clean-up at the club on April 12th

Work work work at Niagara Olympic ClubIt was a beautiful day, ideal for spring cleaning. With the sun shining so brightly, the results were immediately visible, which seemed to feed everyone’s enthusiasm for working harder to get it all done. The results are superb.

It all bodes well for the season.

THANK YOU!

Can you take an hour to celebrate with us on Saturday April 26th?

The Ontario Government's Trillium Foundation

This coming Saturday, at 11am, we’ll be doing some concentrated celebrating at the Club for an hour or so.

Join us in celebrationThe Honourable Jim Bradley, MPP, with Mayor McMullan of St. Catharines, and a member of the Ontario Trillium Foundation (the Government of Ontario’s OTF) evaluation committee, Mr. Harvie Hagerty, will be joining us for a formal announcement that will help us to radically revamp our great facility later this year.

Please come and join us (we’re even providing coffee and some sweet treats!); invite your family and friends. It’s your opportunity to say thank you to the OTF, and the City for their financial and in-kind support for our athletes, and indeed young athletes from right across the Region, who use our unique facility every year at about this time and through to the summer.

We hope that you can come out and join us in celebration.

Fall Clean Up Time (An opportunity for new Members’ parents to meet the “old” ones!)

But it has to be done…

From Sharon:

We would like to start the fall clean up at the track.

First on the agenda is Monday, October 1st.

We need parents to help put the rail away. JP will be there early to get things started, but then his love of coaching will pull him to the trails.  The putting away job is much easier than the spring job of setting up.  Many hands make light work!!!  and this will get it done quickly.

Please let JP know (mailto:fast4949@hotmail.com) you will be available to help so we know that we will have a big crew.

Thank you!

More BMY Volunteers Please, Please, Please…

In less than 2 weeks, the spotlight will be upon us, during the BMY A.O. Meet, August 4/5th. This is our biggest showcase event of the Year, and to-date we are short of Volunteers to help with a variety of important functions during that weekend.

If you have friends, relatives and colleagues who might be able to contribute a few hours of their time, please actively encourage them to join us. Please email us with names, and contact information (preferably telephone numbers and email addresses).

With the Olympics actively underway in London at that time, and NOC having one of our athletes on the Canadian Olympic Team, it’s the perfect time to ask people for their help.

Thank you.

Welcome to the Dig It All age…

Do you have an hour to spare tomorrow (Saturday) morning by any chance?

We’re looking for a few keen Volunteers to help do some edging by the Field event areas, while the Training session is underway.

JP will be directing this eager team of parents, guardians, and athlete siblings for an hour’s effort to get the Field event areas in prime condition for the BMY Meet.

If you can help, please bring a straight edged shovel/spade, and if possible a wheelbarrow (we’ll be moving the resulting dirt and sod to fill some of the low areas around the facility).

Thank you for your support.

BMY Championships Weekend Things To Do…

Thank you to Alex for providing several excellent “To Do” suggestions that we have incorporated into the sub-Tab called  Things To Do.

You’ll see that your suggestions are vital, so we are asking you for more original ideas that are not necessarily to be found on the Niagara Falls website.

Again, let’s try to promote the City of St. Catharines as much as we can.

Please add your ideas under Comments and we’ll do the rest.

Thank you!
