Thank you for your help with a nasty task…

Many, many thanks to all (including the athletes) who came to the Club earlier this morning to help in the post-vandalism cleanup to make the Track usable by our athletes. You did a great job under difficult circumstances.

Special thanks to Trudie for applying her considerable vacuuming skills to the Track surface to get up the hundreds of tiny glass shards!

We must find ways to prevent this kind of wanton crowd-effect criminality in the future.

All suggestions welcomed.

Vandals Trash NOC Facilities

We are very sad and disturbed by having to let you know that a group of hooligans (thought to be end-of-term high school celebrants), last night criminally trashed our great facilities, causing extensive damage to the Track rails, and leaving a trail of garbage, broken bottles and other personal debris all across the track and field areas.

The Police are actively involved in determining what and how such a thing happened. A Reporter from the St. Catharines Standard newspaper was also investigating this morning, so we should expect local coverage.

If you are aware of anyone who is known to have been involved, could you please contact the St. Catharines Niagara Regional Police immediately and give them details.

On a recovery note, some basic cleanup has been done today by volunteers from West Park Secondary School, but we are concerned about smaller shards of glass and metal on the Track Surface and in the pathways. If you can come along at about 9am tomorrow Saturday, an hour prior to start of practise, we are going to try to pick up as much as possible.

If you can come along to help, please bring suitably protective gloves and eye-wear.

Thank you.

Team Picture Day – Saturday June 30th

We’re going to kill Three (mythical) Birds with One Stone on Saturday June 30th.

Alongside the BMY Planning/Volunteer Recruitment meeting at 9:30am, we’ll also be taking this year’s (professional) Team Photographs just before the Training session begins.

Athletes, please bring or wear your NOC singlets for the picture-taking.

Parents/Guardians, don’t forget we have Free Coffee!

BMY Meet Planning and Support

Please don’t run for the exits!

There will be a meeting for all Parents, Guardians (and interested Relatives) of Athletes on Saturday June 30th at the NOC Clubhouse at 9:30am, just prior to the usual Training sessions at 10am.

COFFEE will be provided!

Please reserve the weekend of August 4/5th to volunteer some of your time to ensure that this very large and important Meet is a smoothly run success.

Revenues from the Meet are split between NOC and co-hosts London Legion. These revenues are significant and will allow us to invest in renewed facilities and equipment, enhanced Coaching, and capped membership fees.

We shall need a significant contingent of committed people resources. Please consider joining this important Team. (And did we mention…you get a real sense of satisfaction and achievement from working at these Meets.)

Thank you.
