AO Indoor Youth-Senior Championships set to take place this weekend, along with Ontario vs Quebec Midget and Junior Team Dual Meets
The Guelph Track and Field Club, in conjunction with Athletics Ontario, is pleased to host the Athletics Ontario Indoor Youth/Senior Championships, taking place this weekend at the Toronto Track and Field Centre, located on York University campus in North York, starting at 10:00 am on Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, on Saturday February 16, between 9:30 am and 1 pm, Ontario’s top Midget and Junior aged athletes will take on their Quebec counterparts, in what is shaping out be an exciting and closely contested dual. Ontario’s top Youth athletes returned from Montreal in early February, victorious in the team standings. Please come out and cheer on the athletes! General admission is $3 per day, payable at the entrance. Some of the events to watch include many of Canada’s present and future track and field stars.

Ontario Championships:
Event: Youth Girls 60m
Event Highlight: Watch Leya Buchanan (The Speed Academy) and Maya Stephens (University of Toronto TC) challenge one another for the Provincial title.

Scheduled Event Time: Saturday, Semi-Finals at 2:15 pm, Final at 4:05 pm
Event: Youth Girls 200m

Event Highlight: This event will feature Mariam Abdul-Rashid, Leya Buchanan and Taylor Sharpe, all from The Speed Academy take on Lexi Aitken (London Legion) and Sade McCreath (Flying Angels Academy) in one of the deepest fields of the weekend.
Scheduled Event Time: Sunday, 2:15 pm
Event: Youth Boys 1500m
Event Highlight: Keaton Smee (Newmarket Huskies), Jake Carroll (Etobicoke TFC) and Ben De Vito (Phoenix Athletics) line up on the arc for the 7.5 lap race.

Scheduled Event Time: Saturday, 4:50 pm

Event: Senior Men’s 60m
Event Highlight: Anson Henry (Unattached) 2008 Beijing Olympic team, 2003 Pan-American Bronze medalist in the 100 meter, 2007 Pan American Silver medalist in the 4×100 meter will be in amongst some tough competition, as TJ Lawrence (G-Force), Brandon Bobb (The Speed Academy), Dontae Richards-Kwok (Project Athletics), Bolade Ajomale (Flying Angels) and Tremaine Harris (Project Athletics) will all be looking for Provincial Gold.

Scheduled Event Time: Sunday, 12:20 pm (heats); 2:15 pm (Semi Finals); 4:05 pm (Finals)
Event: Senior Men’s 400m
Event Highlight: Ameer Barbara (Team A.D.D.), Philip Osei (Project Athletics), and Tyler McLeod (Sarnia Athletics SW) are the top contenders in the indoor 2-lap event.

Scheduled Event Time: Saturday, 3:30 pm
Event: Senior Men’s Pole Vault
Event Highlight: Jason Wurster (University of Toronto TC), will face David Foley (Quebec).

Scheduled Event Time: Sunday, 2:30 pm
