Ottawa – Athletics Canada in coordination with its five National Track League (NTL) competitions announced today the scoring events which will be featured in the 2013 NTL series as well as the NTL bonus purse structure and eligible events. Overall the 2013 NTL will award $100,000 in cash prizes, not counting prize money up for grabs on a case by case basis by NTL competitions.
In NTL scoring events points are tabulated to determine who will earn NTL championship titles and take home the corresponding trophy and $4,500 cash prize. Second and third place receive $2,500 and $1,500 respectively.
An NTL bonus purse is also available in any event offered on a minimum of three occasions across the series. NTL bonus purse standings are calculated using the latest version of the IAAF scoring tables. The top male and female athletes in the bonus purse standings win $5,000, second is awarded $2,500.
