OTTAWA – The 2012 Canadian athletics (track and field) season saw many highlights such as Derek Drouin’s bronze medal performance at the Olympic Games, Jessica Zelinka’s unforgettable season, young pole vaulter Shawnacy Barber’s breakout performance at the World Junior Championships and wheelchair racer Michelle Stilwell’s world records in the 100-metres, 200-metres and 400-metres. The season will also be known as one for the record books with 74 new Canadian records set. Men led the way with 41 new records while women recorded 33 new Canadian bests.
