Legion Canadian Youth Championships come to a close

OTTAWA – A number of athletes left their mark on the track and in the field this weekend as the 2012 Legion Canadian Youth Championships wound down in Charlottetown, P.E.I.

Heading into the event World Junior teammates Nicole Setterington of London, Ont., and Deshaunda Morrison of Calgary, Alta., were set to go head to head in the girls U18 100-metre hurdles. The girls did not disappoint with Setterington coming out on top to claim gold with a new Canadian youth record of 13.38 seconds. Morrison finished second with a time of 14.04 seconds.

Agnes Esser of team British Columbia / Yukon has a new personal best in the girls U18 Shot Put. She won gold with a new Canadian youth record toss of 15.09-metres.
