 ATHLETICS ONTARIO SET TO BRING CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS TO NIAGARA |
| PARTICIPANTS FROM ACROSS DIVISIONS CAN REGISTER NOW FOR FIREMAN’S PARK EVENT |
 The Athletics Ontario Cross Country Championships will come to Niagara and participants are gearing up to take their turn at this provincially-recognized event. In partnership with the Niagara Sport Commission and the Niagara Olympic Club, Athletics Ontario will bring their Cross Country Championships to Fireman’s Park in Niagara Falls, offering opportunities for participants of all ages take to the course.  The Niagara 7’s Rugby Festival is returning to Niagara Falls for the third annual running of the event and time is running out to secure a spot! The Niagara Sport Commission, in partnership with the Niagara Wasps Rugby Club, is incredibly excited to bring this Rugby Canada sanctioned event back to the Niagara Region at the impressive Kalar Field.  This past weekend, approximately 50 passionate, knowledge-seeking individuals took to Niagara College for the Sport Niagara Coaches & Officials Summit. In attending this three-day conference, delegates were privy to a total of five courses presented by a host of experts from Ontario Basketball (OBA), the Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA), and the Coaches Association of Ontario (CAO).  The inaugural Niagara Falls Barrelman proved successful for a number of participants, as they swam, biked, and ran their way through the Niagara Region in the hopes of claiming victory at this great event. On Sunday, September 21, 650 athletes truly gave it their all throughout their journey across scenic Niagara, from the Welland Recreational Waterway, through the quiet roads of Welland and Niagara Falls, and finally across the front of the American and Canadian Falls. | 92 ATHLETES COMPETE IN ONE OF INAUGURAL NIAGARA SUMMER GAMES’ FEATURE EVENTS |
 The 2014 Ontario Provincial Disc Golf Championships came soaring into Whisky Run Golf Course and with it, brought an impressive display of competition from participants. During the August 22-24 weekend, the annual Provincial Championships came to Niagara, complete with a total of 92 players spanning six divisions. The tournament was one of the feature events of the inaugural Niagara Summer Games, hosted by the Niagara Sport Commission. Click here to learn more. |
