| Canadians in Action on Day 1 of World Indoor Championship

Sopot, POL – Eight of the nine Canadians in Poland for the 2014 IAAF World Indoor Championship will be in action tomorrow. Brianne Theisen-Eaton of Humboldt, Sask., is the lone Canadian athlete competing for a medal on the first day of competition. Theisen-Eaton, who won silver at the 2013 IAAF World outdoor Championships, competes in the five-event pentathlon.

A total of $2,464,000 US is up for grabs at the Championship. A gold medallist will take home $40,000, Silver $20,000, and bronze $10,000 followed by $8000, $6000 and $4000 for fourth, fifth and sixth respectively. A bonus of $50,000 will be awarded for any World Records.
