In the girl’s 200-metres opening round, Raquel Tjernagel of New Westminster, B.C., placed fourth in her heat and qualified for the semi finals with a time of 24.61 seconds. Day 1 of the Heptathlon: Alexandra Morrow of Southampton, Ont., finished the 100-metre hurdles in 14.81 seconds, cleared a personal best of 1.54 metres in the high jump, threw 10.23 metres in the shot put and clocked 26.34 seconds in the 200-metres. Alexandra finished the first day of the heptathlon with 2846 points. Robyn Buckingham of Langley B.C., has a total of 2789 points. Robyn registered a personal best over the 100-metre hurdles in 15.81 seconds, cleared 1.63 metres in the high jump, shot put 10.71 metres and crossed the line in 27.09 seconds over 200-metres.
