London Runner Distance Club will be hosting the AO 10,000m Track Championships this Sunday May 5 at the TD-Waterhouse Stadium at Western University in London, ON. This will be the 8th year that London Runner will be hosting the AO/OTFA 10,000m Championships and this is the largest field during that time, and may prove to be the strongest.
All three 2012 AO 10,000m Champions return: Sami Jibril, Leslie Sexton, and Dominique Alagnon. Jibril recently won the Harry’s Spring Run-Off 8k in Toronto, while Sexton had a strong showing (34:18) at the Vancouver Sun Run 10k.
Additionally, there are 3 Quebec athletes from the Montreal Olympic Club, who came down to compete in the Team Challenge that required a minimum 3 athletes with 1 of each gender; others contenders in the Team Challenge are Athletics Toronto (the favourites!) and London Runner, who will field both an A and B team.
