AO Prep Meet #2 set to take place this Sunday

York University Track Club in conjunction with Athletics Ontario is pleased to host the Athletics Ontario Preparation Meet #2 to take place on Sunday February 10, 2013 at the Toronto Track and Field Centre, located on York University campus in North York starting at 10:00am. Please come out and cheer on the athletes! General admission is $2, payable at the entrance.

Some of the events to watch include many of Canada’s track and field stars:
Event: Women’s 60m
Event Highlight: Watch Miana Griffiths and Natalia Issajenko of Ontario battle it out on the 60m straight away to run a time under 7.50 seconds.

Scheduled Event Time: Sunday, Heats at 11:05 am, Final at 2:00 pm
Event: Women’s 300m
Event Highlight: This event will feature Christian Brennan (Hamilton Elite) member of the 2011 World Youth Championship team and Esther Akinsulie (Project Athletics) member of the 2009 World Championship team.

Scheduled Event Time: Sunday, 12:30 pm
Event: Women’s 1500m
Event Highlight: Hilary Stellingwerff (London Western) National team member at the 2012 NACAC XC Championships will be running the 1500m.
Scheduled Event Time: Sunday, 4:30pm

Event: Men’s 60m
Event Highlight: Anson Henry (Unattached) 2008 Beijing Olympic team, 2003 Pan-American Bronze medalist in the 100 meter, 2007 Pan American Silver medalist in the 4×100 meter. He was also a member of the 2006 Commonwealth Games where he won a bronze medal with the 4×100 meter relay team. Jason Rogers, was a member of Saint Kitts and Nevis 4×100 meter relay Bronze medal Winning performance in the 2011 World Championships, And Silver medalist in 4×100 meter relay at the 2011 Pan American Games.

Event: Men’s 800m
Event Highlight: Jeremy Coughler (Durham Dragons) 2012 Senior men’s 3000 meter OFSAA Track and Field Champion.
Scheduled Event Time: Sunday, 11:00 am

Event: Men’s Long Jump and Triple Jump
Event Highlight: Riley Bell (St. Thomas Legion) 2012 OFSAA Champion in the Long Jump, Finalist in the Triple Jump.
Scheduled Event Time: Sunday, 11:am (LJ); 2:30 pm (TJ)
