Moncton gearing up to host 2013 World Track and Field Trials

Athletics Canada and the organizing committee for the 2013 Canadian Track and Field Championships are excited today to launch the official event website; www.moncton2013.com.

The June 20-23 event will host over 800 athletes in Moncton, New Brunswick, as the country’s rising stars join returning Olympians and Paralympians to make their bid to represent Canada on the international stage. The 2013 Canadian Track and Field Championships serve as the selection trials for the following international events:

  • International Paralympic Committee (IPC) World Championships – Lyon, France – July 19-28
  • International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Championships – Moscow, Russia – August 10-18
  • Jeux de la Francophonie – Nice, France – September 6-15

The 2013 Canadian Track and Field Championships will be held at the Moncton 2010 Stadium on the Université de Moncton campus. The modern facility was built for the 2010 IAAF World Junior Championships and provides an exceptional venue for competition. The competition promises to be another exciting and successful event hosted in Moncton. Plans are in the works to bring championship events to various places in the city-stay tuned for details!
