Cam Levins runs another Olympic qualifier, and a BC record

A week after hitting the Canadian A+ Olympic standard in the 5,000m, Cam Levins ran an outstanding 10,000m at the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational in California. Levins won the race in 27:27.96, just over 4 seconds outside Simon Bairu Canadian record, but over 8 seconds faster than Jeff Schiebler’s BC record. He also convincingly bettered the Canadian Olympic A standard of 27:45.00.

Ontario’s Mohammed Ahmed (NOC) also finished well under standard, with the third best Canadian time ever, 27:34.64.

And Simon Bairu was just outside the A standard with 27:58.05.
